Our Story

Woosah Bride was founded in 2022 after our founder and her husband experienced planning their wedding in 2021 during the pandemic.

  • It was created  for melanated women who feel like they no longer have a voice. This brand is for those planning brides who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or pressured to please everyone but themselves. Brides who may feel like “it’s not even their wedding anymore” because mom, dad, grandma, or sister Bertha from the church, has imposed their wants and needs so much that she has given up fighting for everyone to see this is about the celebration of something bigger than one day.

Woosah Bride was founded to create awareness for melanated brides and their support system of the importance of prioritizing mental health, and to have a platform to interact with others. The goal is also to create a community specifically to uplift this change.

  • We want self-care to become a mandatory conversation in the beginning and during planning, not just with brides, but with their support system. This movement has the power to impact the planning process yes, but also to start powerful changes in a couple’s foundation for a successful marriage which experts will tell you needs great communication, boundaries, transparency, respect, consistently listening to your mind and body and taking care of yourself so you can show up in a marriage as your full self.

Woosah Bride aims to provide a community of wellness professionals, past brides, seasoned married women, people who understand, who truly prioritize seeing you and your partner win so you can have the best planning process, and also create habits that set the foundation to show up as your best self in a healthy marriage.

We hope to bridge the gap between the glamour of planning your big day and the reality which involves learning how to set boundaries and take care of self. It also has a specific product line to show illustrations of black and brown women of all shapes, sizes, and ages.
